Thoughts
and recollections for a first timer: Driving to Shadey Valley from Boone on 421. Wet tall grass. Fishin' the Beaverdam and catchin' some fish. Fishing with landlockednow Waiting for Streamer to arrive Thursday night/Friday morning. Shane's ring toss by glow stick Secrectweapon's snoring!! Fishing Stoney Creek. Fishin' with Flytyer and Secrectweapon. Croaker's Low Country Boil....make ya wanna slap your mamma! Mrs. FT's pecan pie.....good stuff! The friendly locals everywhere we went. Gettin' ready to go look for the White Top boys. Blueridge taking us to the South Fork of the Holston Getting to see the hippie chicks in Damascus....young and old(my age). Fishing the South Fork and catching some nice fish! Running into Too Tall(Bill) and Shane at the South Fork and Too Tall letting me barge in and fish with him. Drivng back in the rain.....missing being out in the hardest rain. Woolly's Beans.....some more good stuff! White lightin'. Peach Stomp. Spey Rods and casting demo! Big ass fires! Jule's sausage Sunday morning. Headin to the Beaverdam with Troutchaser and Mike on Sunday morning(Jule, thanks for the heads up on Rob's hole). Seeing Marty with a guide party on the Beaverdam. Getting back to camp and Troutchaser's and my tent the last two standing. Tearing down. Gary, thanks for takin' Baxter's tables back with you. Fishing the Stoney one last time before heading home. Caticng a fish in the local swimin' hole on the Stoney then givin' it up to the boys wanting to get wet. Driving 321 from Elizabethton to Boone. This was my first time in this part of the country and I throughly enjoyed every minute of it! JT, thanks for straw bossin' this thing and thanks to Creek Scum and gonefishin for the the work they did to help get this thing off the ground too. Thanks to Croaker and Woolly fer two fine suppers. Thanks to all the breakfast cooks and Jule for the good sausage. Randy thanks for your help guidein' us to some great fishing. Blueridge, thanks for takin' us up to the South Fork. I can't wait until the next get together. It was hard for me to concentrate all day Monday just thinking about the GREAT time I had at PFF!!!!! You can bet I won't be a stranger to that neck of the woods. Great to see folks I had previously met and meet some new ones ta boot! What a great bunch of people! Thank you Mr and Mrs. Irby Howards for being such gracious host....the site was perfect. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Can't wait til next time, Ralph |
