Great time rain and
all! My takes and recollections. Arriving Thursday around noon and setting up. Fishin' the Beaverdam 9ft4wt's Thursday night meal.....good groceries!!!! Fishin' Stoney Creek.....bunches of wild bows! Snake convention. Finally catching a fish over 10" on Stoney. Friday afternoon rain. Fishin' da Beaverdam again. Arky Dan's expletive when seeing plumbbob's realistic tie.......enough said! Friday night rain! Croaker's Low Country Boil.....more good groceries! Not now Jack....let me finish this! Gooooood peach stomp deliverd by Blueridge.....thanks a bunch Roger. Good berry stomp passed by Blueridge! Woodford Reserve. Fishin' the Holston with Streamer, Peddler, Flychamps, Sleepytrout and Miss Damselfly! Sat. afternoon rain. Helpin' Woolly with Sat. Loon Stew. Meeting Miss Peggy while she helped with the mushrooms Holdin' the cook tent down with Woolly, ArkyDan, and SleepyTrout. Sat evening rain and WIND! Good Loon Stew Dryin' by the fire....thanks to ArkyDan and Flytyer for the great fire Sat. night....much appreceiated by me! Dan and Britton thanks for the beer so I didn't have to leave the fire! JT pullin folks outta of the mud. Folks cuttin' and runnin' after the first rain Sat. evening Second round of rain Sat. night Rain during the early hours of Sunday Listening to people try to get out of the field early Sunday morning! New exit cut Packin up in the rain. Explorin' areas on the way home. Findin' clear water and catchin' fish with Streamer before we headed home Unpackin' wet stuff when I got home. Did I mention it rained? Thanks to JT, Creekscum and Gary and all the other straw bosses. Thanks to Shane and Pyscho for the T-shirts and hats! Thanks to all the cooks for all the meals. mud. - Great grub! - Grubs, snails and slugs... everywhere! - Finding out at 4:00 in the morning that the stuck door on the middle blue Israeli outhouse made for a relatively clean morning constitutional. - Mud. - Rain. - Searching for jungle rot Sunday evening. - Coffee! - Seeing old friends and meeting new friends. - Fishing with some great people! - Watching Harvey, the Fish Whisperer, nab a bluegill by hand! - Figuring out that partidge and orange is good fish bait. - Dodging airborn electricity. - Fruit flavored drinks. - Lighter fluid flavored drinks. - Having long chats with FlyChamps. - Losing the tip of a green fly pole makes for poor presentation and finding another poor soul with the same problem. - Having Olyns show up, limo driver and all! - Having, needing and using 4 wheel drive. - Learning peoples names through Gordon. - Spending time with the good spirit of Damselfy. - The coziness of a sleeping bag. - The joys of ear plug ownership! - Taking the ear plugs out each morning and wondering if a hot air balloon was landing or Darth Vader joined the party. - Finding out Landlockednow has us covered for August flies! - Explaining the significance of the gear we wear to a stunned civilian in a restaurant. - Having someone graciously leave a red Swiss Army knife in the Jeep yesterday. - Sitting on a stump with Gary. - Sitting on a chair enjoying watching Damsel and Chris fool warry trouts. - The art of Shane and a whole lot more! |
